Through their musical evolution over the last several years as displayed in their d閎ut CD entitled "AutoViolet," this special and unique group has blended the power of universally-driven Alternative Rock with emerging electronic rock technology.  These strengths are fantastically intermingled in the enormously compelling and emotionally punctuated vocal performances of Amy Arsenault.  The messages of despair straight from the depths of her heart and soul reflect upon the life experiences we often face in these times.Amys stunning, awe-inspiring vocal expressions are supported by a platform built by one of the most excitingly gifted and up-and-coming new rhythm sections in the rock world today.  Chris Banting delivers one of the most brilliantly executed rock drum and percussion presentations of the decade with a relentless and perfect groove and glowingly tasteful drum fills.  His exactly measured bass drum performance is in pounding cadence to infectious elements drawing one ever closer to experiencing the raw, sensuous physicality of AutoViolet.  Brent David Johnson has astutely interwoven his extraordinary talented bass playing into a seamless supportive fabric completing an indestructible supporting foundation upon which sits a tower of undeniably contagious and memorable songs that create the robust structure known as AutoViolet.AMY ARSENAULTAmy Arsenault was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the youngest of three siblings.  Her family was separated by divorce at an early age which left Amy and her siblings living between households.  At the age of seven, tragedy struck when her only brother passed away at age 15.  Her brothers loss devastated the family.The events of her childhood left a young and impressionable Amy terrified, panicked, lost and disillusioned.  At this young age, she developed serious emotional problems and for the first time in her life, was dealing with bouts of severe depression and anxiety.Experiencing feelings of alienation from other students, being bullied and at times physically beaten at school, Amy withdrew further and had difficulty socializing with other students.  She was eventually transferred to a new high school in Victoria which had a strong focus on cultural arts and performing arts.  Amy discovered a method to express herself through music which became a form of emotional therapy for her. Amy was encouraged to create a journal in which to write her thoughts and feelings that soon transformed into a book of lyrics.  She began to find common ground with other artistic students and developed friendships.  Amys mother, ever caring and encouraging, enrolled her in both gymnastics and dance classes where she soon excelled and found a good outlet for her anxiety-filled depression.While at high school in Victoria, on Vancouver Island, Amy started to perform in the schools Blues Band.  Performing shows at many local events and music festivals allowed her, for the first time, to blend her onstage live physically-energizing performance with her musical vocal style.  She found the audiences positive reaction exhilarating and the experience emotionally overwhelming.  The great sensation of joy she felt in entertaining the public was life changing for her.As a high school student, Amy soon found herself a member of a professional 12-piece show band called "The Midnights" and believed herself to be the "luckiest kid in the world."  The journey of being a professional singer performing in bars and nightclubs in Victoria had started.  She performed with both the high school and professional bands at different nightclubs and bars, all the while focusing on writing and developing her own original music and lyrics.  However, while enjoying artistic rewards as a performer, the inner battles and turmoil continued to plague her, driving her into deep pits of depression and periods of social awkwardness at school.After graduating from high school, Amy moved to Vancouver and enrolled in the prestigious Blanche Macdonald School of makeup artistry to learn the craft and art of professional makeup which turned out to be a great way to earn a living while pursuing a professional singing career.  She endured the frustration of seeking out a rock band to perform in but was met with the typical stereotyping of all male bands not wanting a woman lead singer.  During this time, she spent months on end writing and performing backup harmonies for local solo artists and songwriters, still ever confronting the demons of her mind, suffering great periods of depression and fighting her own self-doubts.Because of a chance conversation with a friend in Los Angeles, Amys father developed a connection with record producer Rob Fraboni who suggested Amy contact Motown legend Teenie Hodge in Memphis, Tennessee.  Teenie was a guitarist/songwriter for Al Green, Ann Peebles and Syl Johnson.  Teenies songs have been covered by the likes of Al Jarreau, Talking Heads, Levon Helm and Living Colour.  At 18 years old, Amy traveled to Memphis and met and worked with Teenie which led to a meeting with Mary Unobsky, songwriter/arranger for such luminaries as Rita Coolidge, Sharon Cash, The Carpenters, Bonnie Raitt, Sister Sledge and many more.  Writing songs with Mary was a truly enriching and wonderful learning experience for Amy.  Together they penned three songs.  Being treated to a strong dose of "Southern hospitality," a very rare treat for a young Canadian, Amy settled in to enjoy the music heritage of Memphis and America -- evenings spent hearing some of the worlds most gifted artists at Beal Streets famous music venues, absorbing the textures of Blues, Jazz and Country music and allowing it to be the tremendous music lesson that it was.Faced with a choice of either staying in Memphis to work on developing as a Blues artist or returning to Vancouver in search of a rock band, Amy sadly left Memphis.  She returned home to Vancouver in her quest to establish herself as the lead singer in a Rock n Roll band.Noticing an ad for a new rock band seeking a female singer, Amy arranged an audition and landed the lead singer role in AutoViolet.  This was the start of a journey that involved most of the trials and tribulations that new bands endure -- members leaving, writing original songs, determining an artistic direction which was unique, rehearsals, recordings, booking live shows in a very limited Vancouver club scene, building a following and on and on.Amy soon found herself residing in the Vancouver house owned by the family of her co-writer and producer Chris Dang.  The house contained a fully equipped recording studio and she became totally absorbed in a live-in situation with him, constantly working on recording the AutoViolet d閎ut CD.  Encouraged by Chris Dang to work endless hours to write songs, arrange her vocal performances, record vocal tracks by herself, along with constantly working as a waitress in Vancouvers bars and strip joints to contribute to the housing expenses, the stress levels grew unbearable and Amy reached the brink of complete mental and emotional exhaustion.  To fight her lifetime bouts of severe depression, feelings of helplessness and anxiety, she slipped into the world of alcohol and drug abuse that seemed so easily and readily available to her in the seedy side of Vancouver nightlife.  This cycle of despair and substance abuse became the catalyst to the darker lyrics that flowed forth from the shadows of her soul.  With the great support and urging of her family and the encouragement of her manager, Amy found the inner strength to break the chains of drug and alcohol abuse that had entrapped her.  She has recently moved on to embrace lifes joyfulness and rediscover her true love of music.Amy has become a strong advocate for the use of music and all forms of creative art to bring understanding of self-worth, confidence and self-fulfillment to talented teens and young adults struggling with the internal emotional battles through her devoted support of the Amy Winehouse Foundation.BRENT DAVID JOHNSONBrent David Johnson was born in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, but grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and Kelowna, British Columbia.  At the age of eight, Brent Davids parents enrolled him in the Technics School of Music in Saskatoon where he studied keyboards for over three years and was quite an accomplished player at an early age.  When Brent David turned 13, he began developing his prowess on trumpet and soon found himself so good at it that as a high school student, he was performing with every concert band, stage band and jazz combo around.  By high school graduation it was noted that over half of his school courses were musical.  Under pressure from those older and wiser around him, he took a break from music and embarked upon studying electronics at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.  However, after a few depressing and boring years of working in the electronics industry dealing with small people with smaller minds, his unhappiness overwhelmed him.  Armed with a wild, rebellious spirit that resides within all true Rock n Rollers, he emerged with a vengeance to seek his lost love - music!Vowing to get back into music, Brent David moved on to more modern instruments.  At first he took basic guitar lessons and with endless practice, developed his skills quickly.  After discovering that he enjoyed "walking" the fret board rather than playing chords, bass guitar clearly became his instrument of choice.  With his vast experience at keyboards, trumpet and guitar, Brent David became extremely skilled at playing bass.  Armed with a natural gift and endless work, he has mastered his instrument and along with his love for bass lines and grooves, has become a world-class bass player.Brent David began seeking out other local musicians with whom to collaborate, hone his talents and expand his Rock n Roll experiences, all of which he did very well.  He performed in dozens of shows in Vancouvers popular - and not so popular - nightclubs, sometimes on nowhere stages often located somewhere between a strippers pole and a bathtub.  There are stories aplenty, but in many ways theyve only just begun...Eventually, Brent David came across an ad in a local Vancouver newspaper about a newly forming band seeking a bass player.  After passing his audition, he became a member of AutoViolet.  Busy with song writing and preparing for over a year, AutoViolet finally took to the cramped, narrow stage of Vancouvers old Piccadilly Room to a packed house for its d閎ut show.  The room was full of true local music lovers and the bands success was undeniable.  Its on to the next adventure!CHRIS BANTINGChris Banting was born in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.  He was surrounded by music influences from an early age, having a father who was a regular member of a local band.He began playing the drums at the age of eight after getting a second-hand kit from his cousin.  For years, he developed as a self-taught drummer, playing along to records in the basement of his family home emulating his favourite drummers.  He carefully studied the playing technique and styles of such drummers as Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Billy Cobham, John Bonham, Steve Gadd and Neil Peart.  In time, the influence of these drummers would be the foundation from which Chris began to develop his own uniquely progressive style.  As Chris playing evolved, he started to study drum theory privately with some of the top instructors in the region.Throughout his high school years, Chris continued his formal training in musical theory, composition, orchestral and jazz performance.  As a young gifted student, Chris had been selected by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra to study music at the University of Calgary and the Banff Centre.  He was honoured to later perform with the ensemble.  Chris also developed a proficiency on guitar, bass and piano and is continually expanding his musical knowledge and talents.Chris joined the professional ranks by spending seven years as the drummer in the thrash metal/crossover band Beyond Possession which recorded for Death Records/Metal Blade.  In 2005 he became a member of Carnival Divine who were inked to Five Points Records. He soon moved on to brief stints in a jazz/funk fusion project Baked Potato and an alternative pop/folk band 21 Tandem Repeats.  Chris always looks forward to working with eclectic artists in order to expand his musical repertoire.In early 2010, Chris was contacted by a friend and producer who said he knew of a band looking for a drummer.  They had just finished recording a four song demo and the tracks were sent to him to learn.  Within a few days, an audition was scheduled. AutoViolet had finally found their new drummer.
