British choir formed in 1973 by Roger Norrington to replace the Schütz Chorale and the amateur Heinrich Schütz Choir, both founded by him in 1962. Its repertory is centred on Schütz and early music, but since the mid-1970s 19th-century and contemporary British works have been given.
