MEMBERS:※ Brady, Mat - Bass※ Essink, Justin - Drums※ Grotrian, Kellan - Guitar/Vocals※ Walker, Danny - Vocals Faded Black is now a group of four very talented young musicians from Lincoln Nebraska . Kellan has been in bands since 8th grade and his experience shows in his amazing guitar work. Mat is the energetic bassist playing the smoothest lines you’ve ever heard. Justin is the drummer creating all the diverse beats to create the style of the bands music. To top it off Daniel’s breathtaking vocals and lyrics connect them as a band. Each member has been in other bands before but this group is always in the process of making new music by accident. Faded Black was started in late 2006 in the basement of Danny’s (the lead singer) apartment. After jamming with many musicians he found Kellan Grotrian the guitarist (in March 2007), and Mat Brady the bassist (in April 2007) and they continued to search for a drummer to do shows with. While they were searching Faded Black was doing acoustic sets in downtown Lincoln at places like the Crescent Moon Coffee Shop, Chatterbox, and Duggan’s Pub. The drummer Alex Durrant (in September 2007) was added to the band and Faded Black started doing bigger shows in November 2007. Alex(17) had only been a drummer for two years but already had so much talent, and energy that the band needed. Each musician built confidence off of each other and Faded Black recorded their first four track self titled EP. Inspired by music from Alice in Chains, Godsmack, Staind, and Breaking Benjamin; Faded Black has created their own unique sound. Their first release accompanies influences of acoustic, alternative, and modern rock music. In June 2008 Kellan planned to do his final tour with his other band Ghost Towns. While Kellan was gone Danny started a search for a more dedicated drummer. After jamming with a few drummers there seemed to be only one drummer that could create the sound that Faded Black was looking for. The new drummer Justin Essink (in June 2008) was added and the band started making new music quickly. Once the connection is there it is hard to stop, and Faded Black is going to be a nonstop process!! FADED BLACK IS BACK Kellan is done touring with his other band and ready to get out there again. Danny, Mat, Kellan, & Justin have been practicing like crazy. New songs will be making it to your ears soon. Keep posted for the new show dates as we hope to see new and old faces of our fans in the crowds. We cant wait till all the fans get to hear the new music being made with Justin as the new drummer! Im sure youll be very proud of them like I am.
