Sophia Bouhaddou is human. I am silly, overly optimistic, in love with life, grumpy, passionate, alive, lively, deep, sweet, breathing, screaming, simple, complicated…. My goal: to inspire you!  I am a professional musician—one that can breach domestic and international boundaries and connect with people on all kinds of levels. I am a multi-culture kid, my mother is from France my father is from Morocco and i spent most my childhood in America. I speak English, French, and Arabic and incorporate this into my music. I am a songwriter. I am a graduate from Los Angeles Music Academy (LAMA) in Pasadena.Ever since I could make noise, I started to sing. As a little girl I would sing songs (on repeat) from Les Miserables and put on dramatic performances for dinner guests in the family room. As a child, I was always drawn to musical instruments, as if I was already somehow aware of my passion and just needed figure out how to manifest it. I quickly learned to play the violin, saxophone, and piano, and took voice lessons beginning at nine years old. In high school, I held roles in many high school plays and musicals including Candide, The Red Room, and Pirates of Penzzance. I sang the national anthem at all the high school football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, water polo games as well as at my  graduation in front of 10,000 people. I participated in many singing competitions (including American Idol, Del Mar Idol (Placing 3rd), Best of Utah (Placing 2nd).Since then, I have performed alongside Patrice Rushen (Grammy Award Winner, Quincy Jones, “Forget me Nots”) and Kacee Clanton(Joe Cocker, Luis Migel)  and been taught by Al Jarreu,   Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson Singers, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera),Ricky Minor (Tonight Show, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys), Nikhi Korula (NK Band, Dave Mathews Band, John Mayer), Andrea Collderwood (Ben Folds, Downbeat Award, Downbeat Magazine, Outstanding Soloist Award) and Tierany Sutton (Grammy Nominee For Best Vocal Jazz Album).  I have been formally judged by many influential vocalists such as Carman Carter (Dancing with the Stars),Darryl Phinnesse (Michael Jackson Singers), Siedah Garrett (writer of Man in the Mirror).I am currently the lead singer of my original Soul R&B Pop band: Sophia Alone who perform weekly at various venues in Los Angeles and San Diego area, which include performances at House of Blues, City Walk, Howl at the Moon, Infusion Lounge, Pig and Whistle, Steamers Jazz Club, Room 5, Kulaks Woodshed, Club Metropol and more. I also work as a professional singer. One Cover band i sing for is Section 8, a Rock Cover band performing all of over the OC! Another is The West 79th Street Funk Jazz Band, which is a wedding corporate band.
