Sailor Free started in 1991 in Rome, between four musicians known in the 1980s local rock scene: the drummer Stefano Toni, the bassist Alfonso Nini, the guitarist Stefano Barelli (former members of the band “Scarlet”) and David Petrosino, composer, singer and keyboard player, already leader of the world-music band “Handala”.In 1992 Sailor Free released their first album, titled “Sailor Free”, for the Italian label Tide Records, and made a tour throughout Italy.Their music floats between art-rock progressive, hard rock and psychedelia, with occasional ethnic flavours.In 1994 Sailor Free published their second album, “The fifth door”, for The Labyrinth, label of Laser’s Edge, in the USA. The album won great attention from both audience and critics and the band toured all around Italy and Europe.In 1996 the band's activity had a break and it gave place to other projects. David Petrosino produced various bands (Handala, Zezi, Pino Marino, among them) and started a solo project, “Petrosino”, and published an album “Slices” in 2009 for the label One E Music.The Sailor Free CD “The fifth door” re-published in 2004, and the band's peculiar style kept the name alive throughout the web.In 2010 Sailor Free re-joined together and realized a videoclip - video art titled “A dream of cans” (official selection Lenola Film Festival 2011) on the song Daeron, first single from the coming album.Band members    David Petrosino - voice, piano, keyboards    Stefano “The Hook” Barelli - guitars    Alphonso Nini - bass    Stefano Tony - drums
