It all started when I was growing up watching my uncle (Sonny Curtis, member of Buddy Holly & The Crickets) play guitar. He gave me a strat when I was only 12 years old and I was determined to learn to play it.As I got older, I played in bands at bars & clubs for several years, playing the usual rock and roll, country, jazz and eventually classic rock..I started listening to Michal Hedges, Leo Kottke, Doc Watson, Sonny Curtis, Pierre Bensusan and many more that later influenced my music.After a while, I started composing my own acoustic tunes, many in alternate tunings, even songs with lyrics.I have enjoyed working with good friends and musicians like Darren Rogers, Mark Ham, Dave Daniel, Pete Skydtad, Danny Rogers and fellow band member from Teysha, Deja- Vu, Leslie Sawyer, and West of Eden.I live in Texas now, recording my acoustic guitar music and hope to continue to play and record music.Life,Love,Peace,MusicVance Sheaks
