Kang is currently the supervisor of Folk Music Ensemble of The NationalCenter for Korean Traditional Performing Arts (NCKPTA). She devotes herself to the promotion and transmission of gayageum byeongchang of Park Gwi-hui school and gayageum sanjo of Seo Gong-cheol school.She was designated as the holder of Intangible Cultural Asset No. 23 in 2001.
