Psychic Friend is a side project for Imperial Teen guitarist/vocalist Will Schwartz. After having made a dance-pop record under the name Hey Willpower in collaboration with Tussle's Tomo Yasuda in 2008, Schwartz next began working with multi-instrumentalist Bo Boddie on a project that was inspired by '70s singer/songwriters like Todd Rundgren and Carole King, and based around Schwartz's piano playing. Psychic Friend played their first show at San Francisco's Noisepop Fest in February of 2012
