Steven Ellison, known by the stage name of Flying Lotus, is an experimental multi-genre music producer and laptop musician from Los Angeles, California. He is the great-nephew of the late jazz pianist Alice Coltrane, wife of saxophonist John Coltrane. He is also the cousin of musician Ravi Coltrane
