A native of the Island of Haiti, singer/songwriter Guy Robert Jean plays acoustic guitar, singing in French, English, Spanish, and Creole. For his warm, charming, and unique voice, Guy has often been compared to the late Nat “King” Cole, and to French singer Georges Brassens. Guy’s music is wonderful for listening or dancing, depending on your mood. He charms and energizes you with his French and romantic ballads and boleros.Guy has produced 5 albums to date, was the 2006 Just Plain Folks Music Awards Album Third Winner for his album “Si” and Sixth Winner for his song “Lola.” Reves & Fantaisies is an album of love and passion where Guy shares his experiences, his life, the joys and pains of falling in love, relives his childhood, adolescence, and life and times in his hometown, Port-de-Paix.Guy Robert Jean has also appeared in France, Canada, and his native country Haiti. He is a frequent guest at the Haitian Embassy and has appeared twice at the French Embassy in “La Fete de la Francophonie,” an annual celebration of the French language. He was a special guest at the Organization of the American States in Washington DC, in March 2013 for “La Celebration de la Francophonie.”
