In this new age of DIY, Metalcore newcomers Look, I'm Burning have carved a name for themselves in just a short while."We all want to make music our lives and we researched the best ways for a new band to make waves in an industry and genre that is pretty oversaturated", guitarist/singer Matt Tyler said in a recent interview."It was pretty crazy actually, we had to wait a long time before we played shows because we wanted to come out sounding the very best we possibly could". That meant spending an exorbitant amount of money on the very best gear, merchandise and recordings so they could come to every show and tour fully capable of blowing people away."Our plan has worked out pretty well so far", drummer Paul Swift said while glancing at his band mates,"We have enough top of the line gear to sound amazing on stage and then we have this whole package of merchandise and professional recordings to sell to people after they watch us play". The Band's full length"This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" is a varied mix of musical styles that will bring something new and interesting to Metalcore. Screamer Brandon Connor explains,"We love breakdowns, don't get me wrong. But rather than have an entire song that is just one long breakdown, we really spend a lot of time trying to fit breakdowns where we feel they belong. We'd rather put in one powerful breakdown where the song needs it rather than have five or six in every song". Aside from keeping their feet in the roots of breakdown Metalcore, Look I'm Burning prides itself on crafting creative chords that produce a more full sound and provide an opposite and more melodic side to their music. The band does not play true power chords much and when they do, it is usually inside a robust chord progression that includes more intricate chords as well. Throw in mind blowing tapping, sweeping, and solo riffs from lead guitarist Apolostolos Holevas and Look I'm Burning starts to round out their sound. Fresh off recording their 12 song full length,"This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things", Look I'm Burning are gearing up for their first tour.
