This project has been an absolute dream. I decided I had to do it when I first heard the beautiful title song by Chris Roberts and Hannah Blaylock. It spoke so powerfully to my heart and story that I knew that moment that it was time to finally make the record I’d been dreaming about for years. We made this album during a year of powerful change and healing in my life, which was touched off, inspired, and guided by a few truly amazing souls. The most powerful of these guides, whose words, music, and voice broke down walls and brought healing to some of the deepest wounds of my heart, is Matthew Perryman Jones. His soul and work have been a force in my life like nothing else I have ever encountered, and I am thankful beyond anything I can express that he lent those gifts to this record. Other powerful guides bringing their love and light to this journey have been Jonathan amd Richard Lee Jackson, whose words, music, and kindness have also brought healing to countless wounds for me, Chris Roberts, whose gentle spirit and love and a couple of offhand comments have changed my heart and path, and Marcus Hummon, whose beautiful words and music of love and healing have found me in a couple of dark, dark moments. I am beyond thankful to have all of them as a part of this project! It is amazing to me that all of these souls have not only changed my life, but have spent their time and talents to make this dream come true for me. Who gets to make a record with the songwriters of nearly every song?!
