The Mourning After started in July of 2012. Originally the band formed as a cover/ tribute project to some of ourfavourite bands growing up since we all shared a common interest in the same bands and types of music. MarcusSteiner on vocals and guitars, has been playing in professional bands since the late 90's with frontman and songwritingcredits from bands such as Headpiece (Calgary), Lies From Elysium (Calgary) and The PPL (Whitehorse) to name afew. Rich Jaeger on bass guitar has also been in various bands and projects since the 90's including Epoch and NewNation (Edmonton), Rancore (Los Angeles), Lies From Elysium (Calgary) and The PPL here in Whitehorse. DanVigneau on drums has been in the Yukon since 2010 and was previously in Encounters With The Undead (Sydney,Nova Scotia).Since forming, we have received an immediate positive reaction to our live performances. We were accepted intoSunstroke music festival last year and are returning to it this year as a headliner. Other notable gigs includeMoonstroke 14, Simapalooza 13/14 and many headlining shows at bars and pubs around the Territory including themost recent Nirvana Tribute night at the 202 as well as a spot on the Yukon Convention Centre stage for the Night ofthe Frozen Dead. Other regular gigs include Bailey's Pub, Epic Pizza and Paddy's Place.
