Artists from ABBA to The Zombies have released eponymous albums. For sibling nu-folk band Seasons, it was judged the time was right for such a record when the group had assembled a collection of songs that they felt perfectly summed up their mission statement as a band: to not only pay tribute to the rich traditions of Celtic and American Folk Music that they grew up with, but also to treat those traditions as living, breathing entities that can and should be built upon and expanded. Of the thirteen tracks collected on the album, only one (the original Irish tune"The Wise Maid") is not an original composition from the band. In bringing this record to life, Seasons drew from inspirations new and old. From O'Carolan to The Punch Brothers. From Planxty to Mumford & Sons. In creating a synthesis of these influences, Seasons hopes to have produced an album that is both forward thinking and traditional, infusing the past and present to create something which uniquely reflects them as a band.
