Born at a late-night brainstorming session at a Phoenix-area Denny’s of all places, The Cremains quickly gelled musically and began playing local-area shows. The band released their first independent CD in 1997 entitled Hate You (JBB Songs) and a three-song demo CD in 2000. Their singular style of songwriting and performance earned them the title “Native American Rock Band of the Year” in 1999 by the Sunnyside Newspaper , and praise from international magazine Native Peoples . The hard-working Cremains were also awarded a “Best of Phoenix” honor in 2001 by The New Times were featured in the Arizona Republic in April 2002 and included in the December 2006 issue of Guitar World.
