Return to Kemper is a little collection of my solo guitar recordings from the 90s, plus five new live tracks recorded in the spring of 2011. The impetus for this project was to reissue my Trip to Kemper CD, which was going out of print. Rather than simply reissue it in its original form, I added some older and newer material, with a focus on traditional and original solo guitar pieces. Several of the pieces go back to the mid to late 80s, including Coast to Coast, Fanny Power, and Paddy’s Green Shamrock Shore, all recorded for my 1990 Surette cassette debut. Two other tunes from that era, Rags LeGrand Memorial Two-Step and Mississippi Blues, are part of the five tune live set from 2011, along with two new original pieces (Sky Boys, Blue) and a new arrangement of two traditional tunes from Brittany.
