Thanks to anyone who has taken the time to hear what my music is all about. I consider myself a musician, first and foremost. I've been blessed with the ability to express myself through my music. Over the years, I've had the pleasure to work with a some talented and passionate fellow recording artists. This CD is a culmination of events and experiences that have influenced me throughout my lifetime. I have felt every emotion, from rage to ecstasy and everything, in between! Most of what I choose to rap or sing about, has been a cathartic and healing process. I say process because I'm still growing. At this time, in my life, I feel that I need to speak directly to those who want to be a part of the solutions to the historical problems that America has struggled with and I'm expressing myself from the perspective of Black people. We all know the distant history of Slavery and homegrown terror, in the form of Ku Klux Klan and Senator Joe Mccarthy. I feel like Donald Trump and most of the Republicans are actively working to disenfranchise voting rights for the poor, for Blacks and Latinos, particularly, Mexican immigrants, for young people and especially for Muslims. There once was a time, in America, Blacks couldn't even get a drink of water, at public water fountain, couldn't even walk in to a public establishment, through the same door as a White person. Some things have changed but there are a hold host of things that now plague our fragile society. It appears that, since the cold blooded murder of Treyvonne Martin, we've become aware, with alarming regularity, that young, unarmed Black men, are being killed by police officers, We don't know why they are being killed but it's not just cops,"Stand Your Ground" is some bullshit that"ALEC the NRA has gotten Congress to put into crucial legislation. There is only one way to stop the Republicans from stealing, yet, another Presidential election. All I ask is that you go and vote!"If you don't vote, then you fail." I wrote those words. It just happens to be true.
