Phil Easterbrook has played bluegrass and acoustic music for 33 years, touring the US with various notable musicians, including Claire Lynch from 2003-2005. This collection of music was created in Phil's studio over several years as just creative experiments but have taken on life for others to enjoy as well. In Phil's words...."I love an occasional rainy day. It’s one of my favorite times to go into my studio and create something, just for the fun and relaxation of it. I often compare my instruments to a pallet of paint and my recording gear to the canvas. Most of the time, ideas just evolve as I go. I may have a moment of inspiration that takes on life right away…..sometimes, I’ll start something and put it away for years before coming back to it.This is a collection of music that was created in this way…..just songs that I’ve done myself, in between other projects that I thought I’d share. The only common theme is that they are all acoustic arrangements of a mix of things. Some are my own instrumental pieces and some are covers of songs that I just wanted to experiment with. It is kind of a one-man-band thing……I played all of the instruments, sang all of the vocal parts and recorded and mixed the songs. You’ll hear me playing acoustic guitars, banjo, mandolin, dobro, fiddle and acoustic bass on this recording. I hope that you enjoy the band I jokingly call……. “Phil n’ The Blanks”.
