  • "I consider EvVA one of the greatest musicians on the planet today. Her songs, vocals, orchestration, keyboards, all excellent. I became a big fan from the moment I heard her live. Her music is captivating, soothing, and beautiful...just like EvVA herself. She deserves the greatest of continuing success!!" Signed, Linda Nardini (International pianist and pop star of"Girls Talk" fame)"EvVA is an original... period. Her unique perspective on life, religion, society, and the universe combined with her childhood training as a classical pianist make for an entertaining (and often humorous) look at the world as we think we know it. Take a listen, pay close attention to the lyrics, and enjoy." - Terry Wollman (Multiple Grammy Nominee; Producer, co-writer of Take My Heart)"I've been listening to EvVA's music for a long time, but this album (EvVA) blew me away. It is sometimes circus-like and exuberant and sometimes lush and lovely, with extraordinary intelligence in both the lyrics and the music. A thought provoking masterpiece, also sometimes very funny. - Malcolm Bruce (Musician,"Sons of CREAM", Producer)EvVA who has been called by her peers a"national treasure," is one of the more exciting unsigned music artists living in the US. Younger daughter of a concert pianist father and a fine artist mother, EvVA began classical music studies at age five and started composing at age seven. She began her professional career at age 14 when she met producer/bassist"El Mago" (Linda Ronstadt, Little Feat, Pat Benatar) in a Denver music store, who persuaded her father to allow him to record her early songs at Colorado Sound Studios where he was then working with Pat Benatar. She became a local celebrity, appearing on Colorado TV and cable shows. At 18 EvVA moved to London, England where she was courted by EMI records, musical home of her childhood idol, Kate Bush. But new friend Malcolm Bruce, son of Jack Bruce of CREAM, introduced her to legendary songwriter Pete Brown, who signed her instead to his independent label, promising artistic freedom. EvVA was also part of an innovative group of musicians recording at Commercial Road Studios, notably Christopher Bemand, creator of Acid Jazz and Jo Kerr, co-writer of Thomas Dolby's huge hit"She Blinded Me With Science."The EP recorded with Pete Brown (and co-producer Robert Bond) resulted in an invitation to Los Angeles, where EvVA was championed by legendary music executive Artie Mogull, who had signed Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John, and Laura Nyro among others during his illustrious career. EvVA recorded demos with several different producers, but it was difficult to fit her into an existing mold and EvVA felt she was not getting the sound she wanted. To try to create that sound, she formed a nine piece rock band called"Kali Yuga" with superstar bassist Andre Manga, and a mini rock orchestra with virtuoso violinist Deepak Ramaprian. These two groups played all the major clubs in L.A. and attracted the attention of A&R and other important industry professionals. With members from both groups she became the opener for Men At Work singer Colin Hays and the World Class Rockers featuring members of Jethro Tull, Toto, the Eagles and Wings and prepared to go on tour. Then chaos ensued as the Internet took over and traditional record companies closed, causing a panic in Los Angeles. EvVA relocated to the remote desert where she wrote her first book, a hilarious fictionalized account of her years in L.A. called"Tarnished in Tinseltown," later self-published with the title"Hollywood Bimbo." Then she holed up in an old empty cabin with a laptop, a USB microphone and keyboard, and a digital sample library from the 80's and began her first completely solo project,"The Outer Limits," so-called after the virtually uninhabited area of the desert she was in. She experimented with blending her original classical and pop ideas with electronic beats and sounds, incorporating her trademark stacked vocals, slyly funny lyrics, and virtuoso keyboard styling. The resulting album was considered a work of genius by her peers, but EvVA knew that the recordings needed to be re-mixed and mastered by an experienced professional to be commercially marketable. This person turned out to be Grammy-nominated producer David Scheffler, who introduced himself at her first performance of the new music. The result is"EvVA," an exuberant, highly original collection of piano-based classical/electronic/rock songs about conspiracy theories, erotic obsession, and spiritual longing. EvVA now lives with the Pizza Guy in Seattle, WA. At this writing,"EvVA" is being played weekly on KCDZ radio in Joshua Tree. She is the featured artist for the month of February on Indie 104 in Los Angeles, and her album has just been delivered to KEXP radio in Seattle.
