The saga continues… Protocol, the production duo from Wichita, Kansas returns with the follow up to their self titled debut album. The second installment, entitled “2”, continues where the duo left off, instrumental hip hop with heavy science fiction undertones. A more diverse and electric installment, “2”, is an archetypal collection of dark instrumental beat production.The album lifts off with “Capsule”, an extremely hard hitting track with dubstep undertones. Without a doubt, “Capsule” exemplifies the musical progression of Protocol’s Austin “Smalls” Hanson and Jeff “DVST8” Hayes. “Asteroids” continues in the same vein, providing the perfect mixture of digital synthesis and classic boom bap beat production.
