Have you ever loved a song so much that every time you hear it, you can’t help but stop and listen, and move your head to the beat – because the lyrics hit you just right and the music really defines this moment you find yourself living in? That’s been a driving force for us creating our new E.P.The Fort the Fire, the Fairs, is a collection of songs that dive into the complexity of relationships, and the sometimes brutal honesty that comes from finding out who we are under who we try to be. There are moments in our lives where we need to be introspective, strip ourselves down, and be completely honest with ourselves no matter what we may find. There’s something calming and exciting about being able to realize who you are at your core, acknowledge all the mistakes, and start again. When we first started writing there was this feeling of wanting to tie up loose ends, and answer the questions that we would ask ourselves during the creative process. Somewhere along the way we adjusted how we wanted our songs to be perceived and figured out that the strongest message isn’t an answer, it’s a question.
