They each took a liking to the other’s musical style from the start, and eventually came to collaborate together in 2007, when Massa’s band was hired to play at an event and was in need of a trumpet. They continued to play together in different settings, and in late 2008 the two decided to come together as Echolocation and experiment with producing electronic tracks to complement their respective instruments.
