Extended Play
艺人:Stein标签:流行语言:英语发行公司:Stein发布时间:2011-11-01What you should know about Stein:Manel Alba was a millionaire playboy who, tired of his easy life, wanted one day to play the guitar in a new band. He forced his friend Dani Tarragó, who joined the army until he quit because of his problems with drugs, to play drums, and his lawyer Jaume Villarreal to start with the bass. They just needed a singer: fortunately, one night of November they found Enric Puig singing in the subway of Barcelona. He was a failed actor addicted to vodka and dark chocolate.Stein is often criticized because they do not write their own songs, but well-known musicians, the anonymity of whom is paid with Alba’s fortune. It is still a mystery if their songs are actually written by Puig, as they tend to say, or by these anonymous faces.Anyway, Stein is not in the business for money: all of the members live on the fat of the land since they still receive regularly a salary by Alba. They just play for fun.Their main interests are playing drums with teaspoons, unmounted tangerines, playing two surf guitars at the same time, try to know how many picks can someone loose during a show, and many others...Their main influences are Franz Ferdinand, the Strokes, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, the Beatles, the Black Keys, David Bowie, the Clash, Howie Day, Divine Comedy, the Dodos, the Flaming Lips, Serge Gainsbourg, Hal, Interpol, Kashmir, Kronos Quartet, Kula Shaker, Maroon 5, Aymee Mann, OK Go, Phoenix, Pulp, the Shins, the Spinto Band, Stereophonics, Vampire Weekend, the Who, Yo La Tengo, and of course Stein itself! What you should know about this EP:Enric sings, plays the guitar, and also some beautiful piano lines in two songs. Manel plays really rocker guitars. Jaume plays amusing bass lines. Daniel plays all drum parts, even when you think it is a drum machine!!! The additional voices have been recorded by a beautiful lady called Turtle (Courtesy of herself). All songs have been written by Enric and arranged and produced by Stein. You can hear, in some of the pieces, some samples taken from"The Servant", by Joseph Losey, and"The Big Sleep", by Howard Hawks. Yes! We like movies! And the artwork has been taken from the 50's comic book"Challengers of the Unknown". Yes! We like old stuff! This EP has been perfectly recorded by Jordi Solans and Iban Puigfel at Nautilus Studios (Arenys de Mar), during August and September 2012, and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (NY).We hope you'll like it!
