Two obscure but talented doo-wop harmony groups that recorded for producer Bob Bertram (of 'Susie Darlin’' by Robin Luke fame) for his Hawaii-based International label in the late 1950s. The Flames, led by leader Willie Gaines, were a racially mixed group whose members were in the Navy when they linked up with Bertram. The Vibes remain unknowns, recording only three songs (but none released) in their brief career.
