The melodic components of the music are synthesizers with the occasional guitar solo. Heavy, riff based material at times such as the opener Underground, a certain harmonic and sometimes rhythmic sophistication. For example the opening track Underground has a bass and drums development in the last part, a groove not present in the rest of the song and one it is hoped lends a fresh blend of excitement to rhythm that might not necessarily be heard, or felt, today that might not always be represented in contemporary terms.There may be times that some areas of the songs may take one by surprise; not one track is really the same thing the whole way through, though the instrumentation is much the same throughout. Most have verses, choruses in song terms if no words to dance to; perhaps there might be plenty to listen to as well. It is electronic as the synthesizers are supported by normal drums bass and guitars with some additional percussion, acoustic toms, congas and some electronic percussion. It is rock in that these are the main instruments, it is dance as the rhythms are oriented to groove - Sangfroid works nicely there. It is occasionally spacey with cosmic debris (thanks FZ for that one) such as Nebulae the album's closer. There is quite some detail, a listener should get it all in one go, or at least one number, but repeated listening may give up other areas undiscovered. One never knows.
