Beaudy (the musical) premiered at The Parade Theatre (NIDA) in Sydney, July 2010. The contemporary story is loosley based on the classic story of"The Sleeping Beauty In The Woods", mostly set in a small Australian country town (Walla-Town). When Laura's mother dies in childbirth, her father (Edward) is faced with the responsibility of raising a child as a single father, as well as the future prosperity of the entire town. When veiled threats are made from an old adversary (Patrice), he decides to entrust his daughter's future to his best friends. The child grows into a strong willed young adult, resentful of her restricted upbringing. She runs away to Schoolies (Australian Spring Break) where she meets a young man (Tom). She falls victim to Patrices' scheme to remove Edward's control of Walla-Town and lapses into a coma. Tom is blamed and imprisoned.
