This is our first album with the Chance Quartet. It was an L.A. band, with two members(Ed Willett and Oscar Hidalgo) coming from the U.S.C. school of music and two(Cheryl Leah and Dick Cunico) from another band called Panecea. As has always been with"Chance" endeavors, we started with the idea that we wanted to create something unique to us. The combination of worlds that was brought to this project with Cheryl and Dick's former bands being firmly planted in Jazz and R&B and Ed and Oscar's coming from classical music made it a great musical experiment.The title track from this album found it's way onto a T.V. show called"Northern Exposure" and has brought us many great conversations and correspondence from some wonderful fans of the show.John Yokum played the soprano and tenor sax and oboe parts for us. Mostly in single takes. He is truly a wizard.
