'To the Bright and Shining Sun' is probably the best known track by the Walls, featuring on their album New Dawn Breaking. It was a top ten hit in Ireland and received a huge amount of airplay. The song started out as an instrumental piece of music with the opening riff being the main feature. That piece of music was used in a major TV and radio ad campaign in Ireland. Radio stations started calling the band, asking them for the full version with vocals. As this didnt exist, the band set about writing and recording finished song. It went straight into the top ten the week it was released.
