'caine' was born from a collaboration between Ski Oakenfull and 'Dr' Rick Fraser. Merging influences such as Mogwai, Radiohead, Portishead & Brian Eno to name a few, Ski provided the beats & keys, whilst Rick lent his guitar & vocal talents. The album which was completed in 2000 generated a massive buzz but was never released. With Rick now living in Melbourne working as a Doctor, it gives Primaudial Records great pleasure in allowing this work to finally see the light of day. ---------------------- Marketing: It is impossibe to make this a live project as Rick Fraser is now living in Australia - but with the news of the album's imminent release, we have agreed to work on some new tracks together over the internet (there are also some unfinished tracks) - so the caine project is definitely on-going. As I mentioned there was a lot of support for the album originally, so I will follow up these contacts with promos. Namely XFM djs such as John Kennedy and also Radio 1 djs such as Zane Lowe. Due to the ambient nature of the album, I'm also planning a compilation album later in which the track 'Peripherique' could appear.---------------------- 'Automatic' was always a very popular track...and actually secured us both a publishing deal with Chrysalis!
