Banana Cabbage... consists of three sparse and unformed instrumentals that are out of line with Grubbs' main vein of songwriting, but definitely in line with his more experimental projects. As with The Harp Factory..., Banana Cabbage... may not appeal to those who enjoy Grubbs' more pop-influenced tendencies, but it's a solid addition to the number of experimental and avant-jazz recordings coming from Chicago's scene.
