Genres: Pop,Released: 15 March 20052009 TMS ManagementErika’s debut album “Cold Winter Night” (Lionheart Records, 1990), which was re-issued by MTM Classix last year, messed things up in several countries. Propelled by a number of hit singles (“Hurting So Bad”, “Heavenly”, …), the album went well beyond the gold status and logically a hectic tour followed. Striking while the iron was hot, soon the time was ripe to record a second album. “In The Arms Of A Stranger” was originally released by Bobby Ljunggren’s Lionheart Records in 1991 and brought forth another string of hit singles, such as the title track and “Wake Me Up When The House Is On Fire”, which was written by Alice Cooper’s hit team, consisting of Jack Ponti and Vic Pepe. Quality wise this album easily equalled its predecessor. Both albums give the listener happy feelings and more than once you will feel the need to sing along with Erika. Of course Erika continued to tour, but in between she married her longtime boyfriend, guitar legend Yngwie Malmsteen. However the marriage was over before her third album (“Lady Luck”) was released in 1993. Later she married producer and songwriter Richard Evenlind, gave birth to a son, started a label of her own and released another two albums: “Planet X” in 1996 and “Ripe” in 1998. In the spring of 1999 she took leave of her audience and ‘retired’. In 2001 she left Stockholm and moved to the countryside with her son and new partner Daniel Wagenius. Later that year she gave birth to a daughter. Today she divides her time between motherhood, writing songs and novels. Contrary to last year’s re-issue of her debut album, this follow-up on MTM Classix has been re-released without any bonus tracks.
